156 After a dramatic weekend of football, Chris Sutton has now delivered his verdict on a title race between Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.
The pundit was talking on the BBC’s ‘The Monday Night Club’ and bucked the trend of recent predictions.
Whilst many have still tipped Pep Guardiola’s Man City to triumph despite a recent dip, Sutton had a different name in mind.
The pundit actually thought Liverpool were now showing the form and fortune of title-winners, a side rarely tipped to win it all this season.
Sutton said: “The more they do this, the more you half fancy them to nick the title, with Manchester City and the wheels coming off a little bit. You just sense it may be their season.
“Let’s get it right, at the weekend, they [Liverpool] got very lucky. It was never a sending off, it was absolutely ridiculous.
“So when things start to go their way like that you sense they are building momentum and just imagine being in that Liverpool dressing room, that’s 18 points from losing positions that Liverpool have taken.
“That is phenomenal. So the belief within the dressing room now, they will believe they can carry that on.”

Of course, there is already very little to choose from between the three.
Every club in the Premier League looks capable of losing games this season, such is the level of competition.
And it does almost seem as if no team quite has the quality to pull away from the pack right now.
The festive period will be telling, as it always is, and perhaps Liverpool will need to make the most of the period before Mohamed Salah leaves for AFCON.
It’s a bold shout for Sutton to pick Liverpool ahead of Man City and Arsenal, but there’s definitely merit to his thoughts.
Arsenal do still lack a goalscorer, with David Seaman advising the club to chase one name in January.
And is often the case with Man City around this time of year, they are enduring an indifferent run of form.
However, we are already approaching the period in which City turn their title-winning style on, looking almost flawless for the final few months of the season.
And that will be the challenge for any other suitors, trying to keep up with that momentum, as Arsenal failed to last season.
