Gary Lineker has suggested on Twitter that Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah is better than rumoured Arsenal target Victor Osimhen.
The two attackers are currently away on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations, with Osimhen’s Nigeria one of the favourites to go all the way in the competition.
And according to reports, Arsenal are interested in signing the £100m-rated Napoli striker, who last season was key in leading the Italian side to their first league title in over 30 years.
Yet on Twitter, Lineker has claimed that Salah is the current best African player, with the BBC Sport pundit acknowledging that Osimhen is also a great forward in his own right.
Indeed, the Liverpool winger this season has once again proved why he is one of the best attackers in world football, with Salah leading the Reds’ Premier League title charge.
And based of form this campaign, it’s hard to suggest Osimhen is the better player based on what Salah has done for Liverpool in the league this season.

Yet for many, including Lineker, it’s hard to look past Salah as the crown jewel of Africa, with the Liverpool winger simply one of the best attackers in this current generation.
The Egyptian international has influenced the game in more ways that can be described, and whilst Osimhen’s time will come, Salah remains the true best player in all of Africa.
