'You are the best': Manchester United's Antony hails 28-year-old Liverpool ace

Liverpool midfielder Fabinho has been praised by Manchester United newcomer Antony as the two prepare to play together for Brazil.

The Anfield ace and the Old Trafford summer signing are in Tite’s latest Selecao squad for their upcoming friendlies.

Fabinho and Antony will fancy their chances of featuring for Brazil in their games against Ghana and Tunisia in the coming days.

On Wednesday, the Liverpool powerhouse shared an image on Instagram of himself having a laugh with Antony and Matheus Cunha.

The Manchester United ace replied in the comments by writing in Portuguese: “You are the best, brother.”

Cunha also replied to Fabinho’s post, writing: “What a master we have… love you brother.”

The Liverpool ace has featured in all six of his side’s Premier League matches so far this season.

He also played the full 90 minutes in both of the Anfield side’s Champions League outings in 2022-23.

Meanwhile, Antony has made three appearances for Manchester United since his £86m move from Ajax.

Club allegiances will now be put aside as Brazil look to fine-tune their preparations ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

The Selecao are in Group G along with Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon.
