Steve Nicol has issued his verdict on reports claiming that Liverpool are now interested in signing Antonee Robinson in the January transfer window.
Liverpool are currently playing without one of their first-choice left-backs. Andrew Robertson has not played for the Reds since October due to a shoulder injury.
And Kostas Tsimikas joined him on the sidelines after breaking his collarbone in the draw with Arsenal last month.
Steve Nicol would like Antonee Robinson at Liverpool
Joe Gomez has done well since coming into the side. But Jurgen Klopp appears to be looking at potential options on the market.

Steve Nicol was asked on ESPN what he made of the reports, and he suggested that he would be very happy with a move for the 26-year-old.
“I wouldn’t mind seeing him in a Liverpool strip. I don’t think Tsimikas is good enough. And absolutely I think Robinson could push Andy Robertson,” he said.
Reds may be weighing up whether to stick or twist in this window
It is going to be very interesting to see what Liverpool end up doing in this window. The Reds do not tend to really splash the cash unless the perfect player for them comes onto the market.
So it is hard to see them breaking the bank to sign Robinson if Fulham demand a hefty fee this month.
Gomez is playing well and looks fairly comfortable in that position. So Klopp may feel that he has bigger priorities in this window.
But of course, Liverpool now have an amazing opportunity this season. They are now three points clear at the top of the Premier League table. So there will surely be a temptation to twist while the window is open.
And given that they have apparently made an approach for Robinson, perhaps he may be one player they are actually willing to push the boat out a little for.
