Manchester United v Liverpool is always one of the biggest games on the football calendar and tomorrow ‘s FA Cup clash is no different.
The tie is the biggest game of the weekend, with a place at Wembley on the line.
For United, it’s a big chance to get one over a big rival and show that they are still a force to be reckoned with at the top level. As for Liverpool, a win keeps their quadruple hopes alive and gives fans another trip to the capital.
Jamie Carragher has suggested that Liverpool will go full strength to try and ensure they see off Erik ten Hag’s side.
LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND –And making his own prediction for the game, former Red Stan Collymore has predicted that the clash could actually go all the way to penalties.
Stan Collymore’s prediction for Manchester United v Liverpool
Writing in his regular column for CaughtOffside, Collymore has suggested it’s too close to call and penalties might be needed.
“It’s a big game, especially for United, who only really have the FA Cup to compete for. It’s also a massive game for Liverpool, who remain in all four competitions. The Reds also seem to be getting stronger the deeper they go, so I’m expecting another really hard-fought game for Erik Ten Hag’s men. I won’t call a winner, but I do fancy this one to go the distance. It may end up won in extra time, but I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if it went to penalties, and from there, flip a coin,” Collymore wrote.
Liverpool will be too good
While the old saying ‘form goes out the window’ might end up ringing true on this one, the fact is if Liverpool play to their best they will win.
Right now, they are just a much better side than Manchester United and that shows in results in the league.
Yes, Liverpool might have an element of tiredness to them but even that probably won’t stop them here.
Jurgen Klopp seems to want to win it all in his final season. Expect Liverpool, then, to come flying out of the traps tomorrow and try to see United off early.
