Liverpool might have to think about how to replace Mo Salah sooner rather than later.
As much as we hate to say it, the Egyptian’s time at Anfield won’t last forever.
The links to Saudi Arabia aren’t going away anytime soon, and even if the Saudis do give up on that one, at the age of 31, he can’t carry on forever.
Of course, finding a Salah replacement is an unenviable task, but according to Jermaine Pennant, there’s a player out there who could be up to scratch.
Speaking to The Mirror, the pundit named Leroy Sane as a potential replacement for Salah.

Pennant spoke about Sane.
“Where can you go? There’s not many people who can replace Mo Salah really. There’s talk of Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich, he’s a really good player, when he left Man City that was an eyebrow-raiser. He’s doing the same there, he’s pacey, he can score goals, that wouldn’t be a bad shout, Leroy Sane. I’m sure you could get him for half the price you’d sell Salah to Saudi Arabia, so a bit more money in the bank,” Pennant said.
Signing Sane won’t be easy
Pennant is right, Sane would be a fantastic replacement for Salah, but, at the same time, signing him won’t be easy.
Bayern Munich have never been in the business of letting their star players leave, and they won’t let the £41m man go without a serious fight.
As much as we’d love to see Sane at Liverpool, it is very difficult to see this transfer actually coming to pass as Bayern are one of the biggest teams in Europe and Sane is one of their very best players.
Liverpool may have to look elsewhere if they want to find a Salah replacement.
