Graeme Souness has given his verdict on Manchester United attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes and has noted how he would do for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

The Liverpool legend believes that Fernandes is one player from the Manchester United squad who would star for Liverpool.

So, what has Graeme Souness said about Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes and Liverpool? Let’s take a look.

Manchester United attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes could be a star for Liverpool

Well, Liverpool will take on Manchester United at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday.

Liverpool will head into the match as favourites. United are struggling at the moment, and some fans must be worried about yet another heavy defeat.

Graeme Souness has been looking ahead to the match, and the Liverpool legend has praised Bruno Fernandes.

The pundit believes that the £240,000-a-week (Spotrac) Portugal international attacking midfielder would star for Liverpool.

Souness wrote in The Daily Mail: “Tell me, who would Liverpool take from Man United? Bruno Fernandes, perhaps. I think he would be a star in Liverpool’s team, because he has all the qualities you need to be a top player.

“Right now, however, there is something missing from his game. That is why, from the 22 who line up at kick-off, I’d say the best 11 players will all be in the red of the home team.”

Bruno Fernandes needs to step up his game

In my view, Bruno Fernandes needs to step up his game. I have no doubt that he is a very good playmaker, but we do not see him always rise up to the occasion.

While Fernandes has done well for Manchester United over the years, I do not think that he has had the consistency to star in the big matches.

The Portugal international has made 140 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. Fernandes has scored 47 goals and given 36 assists in those games.

Fernandes has scored three goals and provided three assists in 16 Premier League matches this season. The United no. 8 also scored two goals and gave two assists in six UEFA Champions League games this campaign.
