Ange Postecoglou has been discussed as a potential option for Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp’s shock announcement on Friday.
Klopp is leaving at the end of this season, and, as you can imagine, almost every top coach in the game is now being linked with a move to Anfield.
Postecoglou has taken the Premier League by storm with Tottenham this season, and as a self-confessed boyhood Liverpool fan, many have put two and two together here and linked Postecoglou with this role.
Speaking on BBC 606, Robbie Savage has been discussing the idea of Postecoglou heading to Merseyside, and he says that it would be a great fit and that Liverpool would win trophies if they hired the Australian.

Savage shared his verdict on the 57-year-old.
“I’m not sure Ange would go to Liverpool right now. Would he be a good fit? The way he has his Spurs team playing, the difference would be that if he did go to Liverpool, I think it would be a good fit, Liverpool would win something, Spurs won’t win anything, that’s the difference,” Savage said.
Perfect
This would be an almost perfect fit.
Not only does Ange Postecoglou play a similar style to Jurgen Klopp with high high line and aggressive style, his personality is also perfect for the Reds.
He’s as down to earth as they come, and after spending time at Celtic, he should also have no problem in understanding what the Liverpool fanbase is all about.
Of course, getting Postecoglou out of Tottenham won’t be an easy task, but if there’s a chance that Liverpool can pull this one off, this would be a very good move for the Reds.
Postecoglou could be the perfect Klopp replacement at Anfield.
