'World-class': Roy Keane says Jurgen Klopp has done something 'brilliant' after Manchester Utd draw today

7 months ago 180

Liverpool drew with Manchester United today to finally give some way in the title race but Roy Keane was full of praise for something Jurgen Klopp did.

Liverpool were the better side for much of the game at Old Trafford but had to settle for a point in the end as United somehow rallied and got into a lead.

Mo Salah’s penalty ensured Liverpool at least came away with something from the game.

In the end, there will be arguments about whether it was two points dropped or a point gained for Jurgen Klopp and his Liverpool team.

The draw drops the Reds back below Arsenal on goal difference and the pressure is now on all of Arsenal, City and Liverpool to keep winning.

Of course, one man who knows about winning Premier League titles is Roy Keane.

And speaking on Sky Sports today after the game, Keane picked up one something Klopp did and was quick to praise the Liverpool boss for doing so.

Roy Keane impressed by Jurgen Klopp after Manchester United

Speaking alongside Jamie Redknapp and Kelly Cates, Keane was quick to point out the experience of Klopp.

And in doing so, he lauded the German for coming out and accepting the point today, rather than lamenting it as a disappointment for his team.

“All this emotional rollercoaster stuff you have to deal with, that’s where the managers come into it. Like Klopp today after the game today, I thought he was spot on. That vast experience. Yes, we’re disappointed but we cope and we roll with it and there’s plenty more games to be had. Brilliant, world class managers. Arteta still has to get to that level but he’s doing a brilliant job,” Keane said.

Klopp, of course, has just the single Premier League title to his name as Liverpool manager. And that one came in the Covid season, with no fans allowed in to celebrate.

The Liverpool boss would love to do it in his farewell season.

And as Keane says here, little moments of experience like this could well be the difference in his team getting over the line or not.
