'World at his feet': Trent Alexander-Arnold raves about Liverpool teammate following Bournemouth

Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has been singing the praises of Fabio Carvalho after the Reds hammered Bournemouth.

Carvalho got himself among the goals on a bizarre day at Anfield which saw Liverpool equal the highest win in Premier League history. But for some poor finishing too, it could have been more, as Mo Salah missed a number of chances as he bizarrely missed out on goals and assists.

However, for Trent, it was the performance and introduction of young Carvalho that caught the eye and the England full-back thinks the world is his oyster.

“He’s gelled well with the lads and he’s got the world at his feet. I’m sure he’ll go on to do amazing things. For him it’s about pushing a place into the team and making an impact and today he’s bagged himself a goal,” Trent said to the BBC.

“He’s built himself a really good foundation for this season so hopefully he can go on and push further.”

Of course, Carvalho has a long way to get to cement a regular place in this Liverpool side but in a summer in which they sold Sadio Mane, the Reds can be confident they have a fine player in the ranks to replace him long term.

Some players just ooze class and Carvalho is one of those players. Yes, he’s made a huge step up to the Liverpool XI from Fulham in the Championship last season. But he already looks comfortable.

Carvalho will continue to get chances from Jurgen Klopp this season and if he can play like he did today then Liverpool fans are in for a treat.

As for Trent, it was a much better display from him and his words about his young teammate will be nice to hear for Carvalho when he gets back home.
