Many wondered how well Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool attack would work whilst Mohamed Salah was away at AFCON this month.
Whilst Liverpool haven’t been reliant on Salah, he is still clearly the leading man in their attack at 31-years-old.

That being said, Liverpool have maintained a flawless record since Salah departed with Egypt earlier this month.
Klopp will have been delighted to see how well his Liverpool attack were able to work at Bournemouth, finishing superbly well to win 4-0.
Alongside Jota, Nunez starred, a player who still has his doubters despite how encapsulating his efforts can be.
And whilst the 24-year-old isn’t always the most composed in front of goal, his effort levels can never be doubted.
Moreover, when talking on ‘The Stand’ podcast, pundit Eamon Dumphy understood why Nunez is so popular with his Liverpool fans.
The pundit heavily praised Nunez’s work rate when speaking with John Giles, saying he deserves to be a cult hero.
Jurgen Klopp has always loved Darwin Nunez’s work rate at Liverpool
Speaking on the podcast, Dunphy said: “Let’s talk about Nunez, the Liverpool fans have made him a kind of cult hero because in terms of goals scored before yesterday, he’s had a lot of bad luck in front of goal.
“But he’s never stopped trying, he’s never stopped getting into goalscoring positions, he works like a dog and he’s become hugely popular and yesterday it was great to see him get the two goals.

“He has missed a few, but he’s coming back now. He took them well the other day and you only have to start scoring again and off they go again.
“I think he’s got to that stage now where he took his goals well, there’s no reason why the next match if he has the right mentality to do it again and again, that’s what they’re looking for.”
Of course, many Liverpool fans will now be hoping that Nunez can spearhead their title challenge.
Klopp has always retained faith that things would work out for the Uruguayan at Liverpool, he just had to be patient.
And although he’s still missed chances in the last few weeks, it does feel as if Nunez is turning a corner.
That being said, Danny Murphy still thinks there’s a ton more to come from a different Liverpool player.
