Centre-backs are the order of the day in the Premier League this summer it would seem.
Indeed, both Liverpool and Manchester United are said to be keen on signing a new central defender this summer, and now, there’s been a suggestion that both Premier League giants will be sniffing around Marc Guehi.
Speaking on The Byline, Sami Mokbel has been discussing Guehi’s future at Crystal Palace, and he says that the defender isn’t likely to stick around at Selhurst Park.
Mokbel says that he thinks Guehi will move to the north of England, suggesting both Liverpool and Manchester United as potential destinations.

Mokbel spoke about Guehi’s future.
“Is Guehi staying put?” Mokbel was asked.
“No, I think Marc Guehi will leave. I think his contract situation will dictate that. He has two years left and a club like Palace can’t risk him going into his final year,” Mokbel said.
“I’d be surprised if Guehi ended up at Chelsea, he has other Premier League suitors, I think he has a couple of clubs in Europe as well, I expect him to move north to one of the top Premier League clubs in the north, Man United maybe, potentially Liverpool, they’re both sniffing around him.”
Manchester United a better fit
Liverpool may be better than Manchester United at the moment, but when Guehi is weighing up his options here, he may indeed favour a move to Old Trafford.
If Guehi joined Liverpool, there’d be no guarantee that he’d start. After all, Ibrahima Konate and Jarell Quansah are both solid defensive options alongside Virgil van Dijk.
Meanwhile, at Old Trafford, Raphael Varane is leaving, while Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof have fallen down the pecking order, so a space is there in the defence for Guehi to start every week.
Regular football is very important for such a promising player, and if Guehi is offered these two options this summer, he may be better off joining the Red Devils.
