Arsenal face Liverpool on Saturday, and if the Gunners are to win this one they’ll need to find a way to keep Mohamed Salah quiet.
As we all know, the Egyptian is a player who can take any game by the scruff of the neck and absolutely dominate, and there’s every chance he does the business against Arsenal on Saturday.
Arsenal need to figure out how to stop Salah, but, as ever, that’s easier said than done.
However, speaking on the Handbrake Off Podcast, Adrian Clarke has predicted that one Arsenal player will be able to shackle Salah on Saturday – Gabriel Magalhaes.

Clarke shared his verdict on how the £27m man will handle Salah.
“A few weeks ago I would’ve had Tomiyasu in there, but I’ll go with Zinchenko because I want us to go there with a positive mentality and to control the game, I do think that Zinchenko with his progressive passing makes a tremendous difference. We saw Kiwior against Luton and that affected our ability to move the ball smoothly. The positives will outweigh the negatives. Salah is an issue, but I think Gabriel will deal with him more often than not, the way we defend he’s a hybrid between a left-back and a centre-back these days Gabriel,” Clarke said.
Tough task
It’s all well and good saying that Gabriel can stop Salah, but, in practice it’s never that easy.
If Gabriel is at his best, yes, he may well have enough about him to keep Salah quiet, but if he has just a slight lapse of concentration, the Egyptian will punish him.
That’s what makes this Liverpool vs Arsenal game so tantalising, two evenly matched teams with quality players who can flip a game in a moment’s notice.
Salah could be the deciding factor in this game, but if Gabriel is on his game, the Egyptian King could be silenced.
