Why Liverpool vs Chelsea kicks off at 3pm

Well, the Carabao Cup final was initially scheduled to take place at 4:30pm this Sunday.

However – due to the Metropolitan Police – it has been moved to 3pm.

A statement read: “Following representations from the Metropolitan Police (MPS), the local safety advisory group has determined the 2024 Carabao Cup Final will now kick-off at 3pm.

“Having previously scheduled the usual 4.30pm kick-off time with Wembley and Sky Sports, it is disappointing to note the change at this late stage.”

Manchester United and Manchester City fans experienced a similar situation ahead of the FA Cup final last season, which was initially scheduled to begin at 5:30pm – it was later moved to 3pm as well.

For those without access to Sky Sports, highlights of the Carabao Cup final will be shown by ITV1 at 10.50pm on Sunday evening.

Hopefully, we get to witness an entertaining spectacle between the Reds and the Blues – although Klopp may be without two of his best players in Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez.
