Liverpool are set for a big summer of change.

A new manager, a new recruitment team and a number of key players entering the final year of their contracts, there could be a lot of movement at Anfield in terms of ins and outs this summer.

Alisson Becker is one man who has been linked with a move away from Liverpool, but according to David Lynch, speaking on his YouTube channel, the Brazilian is more than happy to stay on Merseyside.

Alisson happy to stay at Liverpool

Lynch shared what he’s heard about Alisson from sources close to the player.

“Another player who has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia is Alisson Becker. There is interest from him from several clubs, that’s from sources close to the player,” Lynch said.

“Those sources also insist that Alisson is very happy at Anfield he wants to stick around and usher in this new era under Arne Slot, he doesn’t want to depart now that Jurgen Klopp has left the club.”

Alisson will be key

It’s a huge boost for Liverpool and Arne Slot that Alisson is happy to stay.

So much could change at Liverpool under the new manager as tactical tweaks are implemented, but the role of the goalkeeper will largely remain the same.

Indeed, Alisson’s first job will be to keep the ball out of the net, and there aren’t many better in the world when it comes to doing that.

The Brazilian is such a consistent performer for Liverpool, and even if the Reds’ form dips to begin with under this new regime, Alisson’s presence between the posts will give the Merseyside club a fighting chance in any game as he’s so difficult to beat.

Keeping Alisson will be very important for Liverpool as the head into this new uncertain era.
