‘What’s going on with Klopp?’: TalkSPORT pundits left baffled by what ‘disrespectful’ Liverpool boss has said

TalkSPORT pundits Jason Cundy and Jamie O’Hara were left baffled by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp’s ‘disrespectful’ comments about Dietmar Hamann.

Klopp faced the media yesterday ahead of Liverpool’s trip to the Ibrox to face Rangers. The Reds are on a disappointing run of form in the Premier League but have won their last two Champions League games.

Klopp was asked if he agrees with Hamann’s comments on TalkSPORT about his side needing a ‘spark’ yesterday.

“This Liverpool team looks tired, they look pedestrian and they just look flat,” Hamman said.

“I’m not sure where the spark is going to come from because they’ve won games in the past.”

And Klopp responded in his press conference: “Who said that? Oh great! A fantastic source, well respected everywhere.

“Hamann played for Liverpool [but] that does not give you the right to say what you want especially when you have no idea.

“I actually think Didi Hamann does not deserve that you use his phrase to ask a question. Do me a favour and ask your own question. Try to ask without using the word spark.” as transcribed by the Echo

But his comments about the former Liverpool midfielder have left Cundy and O’Hara baffled.

TalkSPORT pundits baffled by Klopp

Speaking on TalkSPORT last night, both O’Hara and Cundy have slammed Klopp for hitting back at Hamann.

Reacting to Klopp’s comments, Cundy said: “The mask is slipping.”

“He’s getting very spiky isn’t he?” O’Hara responded.

Cundy added: “All you see is teeth and tonsils when things are going well.”

O’Hara then adds that Hamann is entitled to an opinion on Klopp’s side as he played for the club for seven years.

He said: “That’s disrespectful to Hamann that, he’s been a hell of a player over the years. What’s going on with Klopp?”

“Hamann’s a top player, he played for Liverpool. He deserves to have his opinion.”

Klopp’s side have come under a lot of scrutiny lately after an underwhelming start to the season.

But a win tonight would put the Reds in a decent position to qualify from the group stage of the Champions League.

Klopp will be desperate to turn things around and faces a crucial week ahead as they also play champions Manchester City on Sunday.
