‘What has happened there?’: Chris Sutton says £34m Liverpool player looks so different now

7 months ago 112

Liverpool have gone off the boil in recent weeks.

Over the past month, Liverpool have lost ground in the title race, been eliminated from the FA Cup and are now on the brink of elimination from the Europa League.

Fans and pundits alike are trying to figure out what is going wrong at Anfield at the moment, and one player who has, somehow, become a bit of a scapegoat is Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian has been out of sorts as of late, and speaking on BBC 606, Chris Sutton has noted that the winger hasn’t been as good as you would expect him to be recently.

Mohamed Salah hasn’t been at it recently

Sutton spoke with a caller about Salah’s recent form.

“I don’t want to put it all at his door because the whole team, Salah, Salah hasn’t looked himself,’ One caller said.

“Yeah, what has happened there? Since he’s come back from injury it’s not been the same Mo Salah has it?” Sutton said.

Mohamed Salah needs to get back to his best

Sutton is right, Salah has been very frustrating recently.

The winger is a world-class player, don’t get us wrong, but recently he looks like his head is elsewhere.

Perhaps it’s a bit of rust after his recent injury issues or maybe he does have one eye on the summer transfer window as a move to Saudi Arabia once again beckons, but either way, the attacker needs to find a way to get back to his best if he’s going to give his manager the correct send off and win the Premier League with Liverpool for a second time.

The £34m man hasn’t been brilliant as of late, but if we’ve learned anything over the past few years it’s that we should never write a player like Salah off.
