The former Liverpool striker and talkSPORT pundit believes that Alexander-Arnold is the best player in manager Jurgen Klopp’s squad.

Trent Alexander-Arnold described as Liverpool’s best player
Well, according to Neil Mellor, Trent Alexander-Arnold is the best player in the Liverpool squad at the moment. The former Anfield striker seems to suggest that the right-back is even better than Mohamed Salah.
Salah is one of the best forwards on the planet. The 31-year-old is world class. He is a goal machine.
The Egypt international forward has scored 10 goals and provided six assists in 14 Premier League matches for Liverpool so far this season. The former Chelsea player has also scored three goals in two starts and three substitute appearances in the UEFA Europa League for the Merseyside club this campaign.
According to Mellor, though, Alexander-Arnold is the best player at Liverpool right now and is even better than Salah. The talkSPORT pundit made the comments about the 25-year-old while analysing the Reds’ win this past weekend.
Liverpool beat Fulham 4-3 at Anfield in the Premier League. Alexander-Arnold started the match at right-back, but he often drifted into midfield.
The England international was involved in Liverpool’s first goal when his free kick ricocheted off the crossbar and in off Fulham keeper Bernd Leno. He also scored the winner in the 88th minute.
Mellor said about Alexander-Arnold on talkSPORT (7:42 am, December 4, 2023): “Oh what a player. I mean Liverpool have got some injuries at the moment, but hopefully he’s not one of them.
“He’s so influential when he’s on the ball, I think he’s probably Liverpool’s best player. He makes things happen and lately people have been talking a lot about him playing in midfield.
“Last 10 minutes he did that in the last game in Europe and again last 20 minutes against Fulham. Gomez went to right full-back, that allowed Trent to go into midfield.
“So, from midfield he gets himself an assist in the European game and then he gets himself a goal there. So, he’s capable of certainly doing that but he’s magnificent on the ball.”
Trent Alexander-Arnold is world class
In my view, Trent Alexander-Arnold is a world-class player. Yes, the Liverpool star does need to improve defensively, but he is brilliant going on the attack.
Not every player is perfect. Alexander-Arnold is not perfect, but he is as close as you can get. And, he is still only 25. I believe that the England international will improve and get better in the coming years.
