'We looked dangerous': Andy Robertson names the two Liverpool teammates he loves having down the left with him

Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson has been singing the praises of new signing Darwin Nunez, insisting he’ll be a top player for the Reds.

Nunez has had an inconsistent start to his time at Anfield so far. After arriving for huge money in the summer, the odd, good performance has been followed by less than impressive ones. To compound things, Nunez had a poor World Cup as well with Uruguay.

However, speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Scottish star Robertson has praised Nunez and insisted he loves playing with him and Spanish midfielder, Thiago.

“He will be a top player for Liverpool and yes, he has only joined up on Monday, but this week will help him massively but with the video analysis team and being able to play a game against AC Milan. He will be ready to go, and I enjoyed the last couple of games playing with him on the left-hand side and I thought me, him and Thiago linked up really well on the left,” Robertson told the Liverpool Echo.

“We looked dangerous, and Darwin looked dangerous on the left and he can also play through the middle as well, so he gives us that versatility; through the middle, left and right. So he will be a big player for us. He already has been for us and I am sure he will be in the second part of the season too.”

TBR’s View: Nunez and Robertson can fly for Liverpool

It might never be the same as Mane and Robertson, but Darwin Nunez has his own qualities, and they will come to the fore eventually.

Liverpool haven’t spent such a sum on Nunez to see him flop or fail. And there’s every reason to believe he won’t.

With Robertson helping him, and the mention of Thiago as well, Nunez has everything in place to really succeed at Anfield. And once he does start playing his best, the goals will flow as well.
