Ben Brereton Diaz has named one Liverpool star as the best South American player in the Premier League, claiming that it is unbelievable to watch him play.
Ben Brereton Diaz, of course, is one of those in the Premier League who represents a South American nation, with the Sheffield United striker boasting 27 caps for Chile.
But there are plenty of outstanding players from the continent who play on these shores. And speaking to Sky Sports, Brereton Diaz suggested that it is Liverpool who boast the best.
Ben Brereton Diaz lauds Luis Diaz
Some may assume that the forward opted for Alisson or Darwin Nunez. They also have a World Cup winner in their ranks in Alexis Mac Allister, of course. But instead, the 24-year-old suggested that he has been particularly impressed by their Colombian forward.

Liverpool star has stepped up again
Diaz arguably goes slightly under the radar. Liverpool have a star-studded group of attacking players. And the 27-year-old has had a few injury issues since arriving on Merseyside.
But when he is at his best, Luis Diaz is an absolutely amazing player. He has scored two goals and provided three assists in his last four Premier League appearances for the Reds.
He averages a goal every four games for Jurgen Klopp’s men in all competitions. But there is no reason why that record cannot improve in the coming years, particularly if he can enjoy some luck with injuries.
The likes of Diaz, Nunez and Diogo Jota did extremely well while Mohamed Salah was away on international duty. And that will encourage fans for the future when Salah does move on.
Certainly, there will be plenty who agree with Brereton Diaz’s view on the best South American player in the Premier League.
