Mohamed Salah is perhaps the best role model any footballer could have.
The Egyptian King is the perfect example of what can be achieved through hard work in this game.
From a Chelsea flop to a Liverpool superstar, Salah has gone from undesirable to undeniable since the early part of his career, and that’s because of the sheer amount of work he puts in.
We’ve heard so many times that Salah trains harder and longer than anyone else, and if everyone had the same attitude and work ethic as Salah, we’d see a lot more players reaching their potential.
Luckily, it sounds as though Liverpool do have a player who is keen to follow Salah’s lead.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Harvey Elliott spoke about his approach to training and how he tries to emulate Salah.
“I think the obvious one is Mohamed Salah. Joining in the same position, I joined as a right winger and then got converted into the midfield. For me it was about watching him closely. Seeing what he’s doing in the gym, seeing what he’s doing in training and trying to base myself off him. This isn’t me saying I want to adapt my game to his, but it was about seeing things close up and how he is around the building and learning little things,” Elliott said.
Harvey Elliott will only improve
If the £4m man continues to work in the same way Mo Salah does, he’s only going to improve.
Salah, by the sounds of things, gets absolutely everything right behind the scenes at Liverpool, and if Elliott can follow his lead, it won’t be long before he’s considered at that world-class level himself.
Having players like Salah around the training ground is invaluable in terms of setting the standards to the younger players.
