Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has sung Jarell Quansah’s praises following a breakthrough year for the 20-year-old.
The Reds star told reporters – as per The Athletic – that Quansah has dealt “outstandingly well” with every challenge that has come his way.
Van Dijk also said his teammate is “still growing” as a player and that he’s in the “right frame of mind” to go far in his career.
Quansah has risen through the Reds ranks over the past 15 years, going on to shine for the Under-21s before making his debut this term.
He made his Liverpool bow away at Newcastle United at the start of the season, and has made 14 appearances to date.

“Jarell has dealt outstandingly well with every challenge that’s come his way so far,” Van Dijk said.
“He’s only 20 years old, he’s still growing. As a centre-half, you get better with experience.
“I was never this far, doing it consistently – like Ibou (Konate) and Jarell – when I was that young. He just has to keep going.
“There will be times when it’s tough, that’s absolutely normal, but it’s about how you deal with that. He’s a good boy.
“Mentally, he’s in the right frame of mind and that’s a good start. I’ll be there for him, whenever he needs. He’ll be just fine.”
Jarell Quansah the latest breakthrough talent in a high-flying Liverpool team
Liverpool’s academy has produced notable talents in recent years, such as the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones.
Quansah very much looks like the next breakthrough Anfield star. At just 20 years of age, he’s holding his own in the Premier League and looks like he has a great future ahead of him.
Liverpool are flying in the league at present, sitting top of the standings. The Reds are also in all three cup competitions they’re taking part in this season. Hopefully it’ll be a fruitful season for the Anfield outfit.
