Liverpool face Manchester City on Sunday in what will surely be an incredibly close affair.
Indeed, these two sides are two of the very best in the Premier League, and it’s going to be really tough to separate them.
We wouldn’t be surprised at all if this game was decided by one moment of brilliance late on, and perhaps it could even be decided by a substitute.
Speaking on Premier League Productions, Karen Carney has been previewing this game and discussing how it could go, and she reckons that Mohamed Salah could be utilised as something of a super sub to make an impact late on.

Carney spoke about the ‘underrated’ winger.
“The interesting one for me is Salah. He played 16 minutes in Europe for Liverpool. I don’t know if that was a fitness test to see how long we can use him for at the weekend. Realistically he’s played 60 minutes in two months for Liverpool. He’s a massive difference-maker. How do you use him? Liverpool have been brilliant at using their subs, would they keep him for the latter part of the game, bring him on and up the ante?” Carney said.
Surely he’ll start
While we do like the idea of a player like Salah coming off the bench to torment a tired backline, we can’t see a world where Salah doesn’t start this weekend.
This is the biggest game of the season, and if Salah is fit, he’s starting.
He looked as sharp as a tack against Sparta Prague during his cameo in midweek, and it would be a huge shock if he was left on the bench against City, even if he is a bit rusty after his recent injury.
While Salah would be a brilliant super sub, we can’t see him playing that role this weekend.
