Darwin Nunez is one of the most enigmatic footballers we’ve ever seen in the Premier League.
Nunez’s blend of pace and strength make him one of the most dangerous attackers in the entire league, but, at the same time, his decision-making and his lack of composure make him such a difficult player to judge.
Speaking to Men in Blazers, Mohamed Salah has been discussing what it’s like to play with Nunez, and he says that it’s not easy to understand the Uruguayan sometimes, claiming that Liverpool have actually never had a player like Nunez before.

Salah spoke about his £70m teammate.
“What’s the secret to understanding Darwin Nunez?” Salah was asked.
“It’s tricky because he’s a different player, we’ve never had that quality before. He loves to run in the space, he doesn’t like the ball in his feet, it’s unique. He’s really fast and he keeps looking to me because he knows I can give him the ball in the space and he can finish the situation. His numbers are improving a lot, which is great to us. I always try to watch him in training,” Salah said.
One of a kind
Say what you will about Darwin Nunez, but he is a one of a kind footballer.
We’ve never seen someone with this blend of skills before, and the fact that he is so unique makes him almost impossible to defend against.
He may not be as prolific as someone like Erling Haaland, but he is more unpredictable, and, in a one off game, that can make him incredibly dangerous.
Manchester City will have some idea of what they’re coming up against this weekend, and while they will have plans to deal with Luis Diaz and Salah, planning to stop Nunez is an almost impossible task.
