One Liverpool player now has the second highest points-per-match record across the entire Premier League so far this season.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side will be diligently preparing for a huge FA Cup tie away at Old Trafford later today, another important route to a trophy in their manager’s last season.

A quadruple in Klopp’s final season would be absolutely remarkable, and in truth it would be befitting of his time at the club.
That being said, injuries have been a factor for Liverpool this season and squad players have needed to step into bigger roles.
And whilst Wataru Endo was always going to be close to the first eleven this season, he’s perhaps now thriving more than some may have imagined.
Endo has played a crucial role in recent weeks and now tops a pretty incredible statistic for Liverpool.
Having played in 20 league games for Liverpool this season, Endo is now only second to Manchester City’s Rodri in the points-per-match record.
Wataru Endo tops points-per-match record for Liverpool
According to FBref, Endo has 2.45 points-per-match, delineating the positive effect he is having for the team.
Rodri is up in first with 2.52, a player recognised as the best midfielder in the Premier League by a lot of fans.
And for context, Liverpool’s next highest players are Diogo Jota (2.37), Darwin Nunez (2.35) and Joe Gomez (2.33), players who have all also been excellent.
Having only cost Liverpool £16m in the summer, perhaps Endo didn’t have the same expectations attached to bids for Moises Caicedo or Romeo Lavia for example.
And that has probably led to Endo’s ‘underrated’ tag of late, but in truth it probably shouldn’t be a surprise that the 31-year-old Japan captain is doing so well.
Endo had a strong reputation in the Bundesliga, and Klopp certainly won’t be surprised that he’s doing so well.
Perhaps the Liverpool manager might be slightly taken back by this points-per-match record, but he’ll certainly already recognise his importance.
All that being said, it would be a surprise if Endo didn’t start against Man United today, although Jamie Carragher is expecting Jurgen Klopp to spring one surprise.
