Paul Merson was really impressed by Liverpool star James Milner‘s performance against Manchester City, but he still feels Jurgen Klopp will drop him against West Ham United tomorrow.
Milner started at right-back for the Reds and he was exceptional. He was among the best players on the pitch and one of the biggest reasons why Liverpool won the game.

Merson lauded Milner’s performance against Manchester City.
He branded his display as ‘unbelievable’, but he still thinks that the veteran will be replaced by Trent Alexander-Arnold in the game against West Ham tomorrow.
The pundit wrote in his column on Sportskeeda: “I do expect Trent Alexander-Arnold to come back for this game.
“James Milner was brilliant – he was the oldest player on the pitch up against one of the youngest, and I can’t express how good that performance was. I know Joe Gomez got Man of the Match – and rightly so – but for Milner at 30-odd years of age to play like he did against Phil Foden was unbelievable.
“The Premier League’s all about being athletic, quick, and strong, and Milner keeps playing at this standard for one of the world’s top clubs – every kid should be looking up to him. He’s a manager’s dream.”

Milner really was exceptional against Manchester City at the weekend.
He showed his experience at the back and if Joe Gomez wasn’t as good as he was, the 36-year-old could well have won the Man of the Match award.
Liverpool take on West Ham United tomorrow and we agree with Merson, we too think Alexander-Arnold will replace Milner in the side at right-back.
However, if Trent’s struggles at the back continue, Klopp may well be forced to make Milner a regular fixture – especially against the bigger sides when the margin for error is so small.
