Trent Alexander-Arnold is the Premier League’s in-form player right now.
The 25-year-old has three goals in his last two games, and he’s been almost unplayable in an attacking sense over the past two weeks.
Alexander-Arnold’s run of good goalscoring form has, of course, coincided with a bit of a positional change for the right-back.
Alexander-Arnold now plays with a much more free role, and speaking on the Footballer’s Football Podcast, Callum Wilson has been discussing the England international’s recent performances, and he says that his fluidity in terms of his position has made him almost unplayable under Jurgen Klopp.

Wilson spoke about his England teammate.
“He’s similar to how John Stones plays sometimes, he’s a right-back sometimes and he’s a midfielder sometimes. When you’re a top player you can adapt to any position. Basically, what I’m saying is as long as he’s in the team the manager will chop and change where he plays him and teams won’t be able to pinpoint how to stop him because he’ll be in midfield one game and at right-back the next, in terms of how he is creatively, he’s unbelievable,” Wilson said.
Incredible
Wilson is right, Alexander-Arnold is almost unstoppable in this new role.
Honestly, what are you supposed to do about a player who can make a ball do anything he wants at any time?
Of course, you could mark him, but due to how much Alexander-Arnold roams now, it’s impossible to put a single player on him without completely ruining your shape defensively.
Alexander-Arnold is playing pretty much anywhere he wants, and in an age where teams are so drilled defensively, that element of chaos is making him a massive threat to these opposition sides.
Alexander-Arnold truly is impossible to stop at the moment, and it’s a joy to watch.
