Jordan Henderson was Liverpool’s captain for years.

He helped the club win everything during his time there, and Jurgen Klopp always rated him very highly – both on and off the pitch.

At the end of last season, it became clear that Henderson wouldn’t get as much game time at Liverpool as he would’ve ideally liked.

Then, in July last year, an offer came in from Saudi Arabia, and Liverpool agreed to let their skipper go.

Now, after less than six months there, Henderson wanted out, and Dutch giants Ajax completed a deal to sign him permanently.

Great move for Henderson

Jordan Henderson came under a lot of criticism when he decided to move to Saudi Arabia in the summer.

His stay there proved to be a very short one, and just even everyone expected a return to the Premier League, he has found a new home in the Netherlands.

Ajax are a great club for Henderson and vice versa. The Dutch giants haven’t had a great season. They’ve won just eight of their first 17 games and are already 23 points behind league leaders PSV.

Henderson’s experience and leadership should really help Ajax, and this is a challenge that should excite the former Liverpool skipper too for the next few months.
