Liverpool have been linked with Lille’s Leny Yoro in recent days as they pursue long-term replacements for the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip.
Le10 Sport reported earlier in December that the Reds are ‘drooling’ over the prospect of signing the Lille talent, also linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United and Manchester City.
The report claimed that Liverpool are ‘determined to play a role’ in the future of the 18-year-old, who is one of the best young defenders in the game right now.
Indeed, Fabrizio Romano has now admitted that he’s big fan of Yoro, suggesting that he’d be good enough for the Bernabeu.

While discussing Real Madrid’s search for a new centre-back, he said: “There are many interesting players around, but in January it’s very difficult to find cheap opportunities.
“I personally love Lille’s impressive young centre-back Leny Yoro – he’s a top talent, but expensive.”
Liverpool and Real Madrid eyeing ‘extraordinary’ Leny Yoro
Yoro has been going from strength to strength and, at just 18 years of age, he’s already a regular for his club.
The 6ft 3in talent, who turned 18 just over a month ago, already has 37 senior appearances for Lille under his belt, as well as four France Under-21 caps.
Yoro also has two goals in Ligue 1 and one goal in the Europa Conference League qualifiers, not a bad return for a centre-back.
Thierry Henry, who manages the France Under-21s, has sung Yoro’s praises in recent months.
“What he is doing is extraordinary,” Henry said in November, via Le10Sport. “Another young player who is having good matches.
“Warren Zaire-Emery attracts a little more attention by being at PSG, playing in the Champions League, he has just joined the A. But it’s true that Leny is doing a huge job at the moment.”
Now, onto the price tag. According to Foot Mercato, Lille have placed a €50million (£43million) valuation on Yoro.
So he’s certainly not cheap, but he looks like a star in the making, so it makes sense for him to have that valuation.
