Joe Gomez has praised Bukayo Saka after the Arsenal winger’s performance against Liverpool last night.
The England international was once again named in Mikel Arteta’s starting XI as the Gunners were dumped out of the FA Cup at the hands of Liverpool.
Whilst Saka wasn’t at his brilliant best on the night, the Arsenal winger was still dangerous down the right wing, with the 22-year-old causing Liverpool’s defence all kinds of problems.

Gomez said on Saka’s performance against Liverpool: “It’s tough playing against Bukayo Saka, he’s obviously a top player and a direct winger.
“It’s not often the case these days in the Premier League but he’s one that will stay wide to pick up the ball and drive at you. It was tough and I knew it was going to be having played against him so recently.”
Bukayo Saka will be fuming with his Arsenal performance vs Liverpool

With Saka scoring Arsenal’s only goal during that time, optimism is low around the Gunners fanbase, with the England international feeling the brunt of outrage from supporters.
And the winger himself will be annoyed with how he performed on Sunday against Liverpool, with Saka’s finishing all over the shop as Alisson Becker kept a clean sheet at the Emirates Stadium.
Indeed, it was a night to forget for Arsenal, and Saka knows that he and his teammates should be doing more if they’re to really compete this season with their Premier League rivals.
