Aston Villa are absolutely flying right now.
The Midlands club are within touching distance of the top of the Premier League, and they could be about to achieve something truly special this season.
However, heading into the January transfer window, there are a few potential problems that Villa face.
As with any high-flying club, other sides are going to target their players, and there’s been a lot of talk around Douglas Luiz leaving for either Arsenal or Liverpool.
However, speaking on Premier League Productions, Leroy Rosenior has claimed that it may well be too late for any club to sign Luiz now as Villa are well and truly established themselves as a top side.

Rosenior shared his verdict on the £15m man’s future.
“I think you’re absolutely right. What impressed me was the squad depth they have. Diaby was terrific coming off the bench, Ramsey is an outstanding player, on the bench, Tielemans is finding his feet in the squad and starting to contribute. Everyone is talking about Douglas Luiz going to Liverpool, but it might be too late because Villa are up there now,” Rosenior said.
See it through
Rosenior may be right, Villa are now surely in a situation where their top players want to see this through.
It’s not at the same level, but Villa are comparable to that 2015/16 Leicester team, and you’ll remember that not a single star player even thought about leaving in that January.
Luiz and co have a job to finish at Villa Park. There’s a Premier League title to win and history to make, and while playing for a club like Liverpool would be appealing, you can’t just jump ship halfway through a season that promises to be truly incredible.
We find it hard to believe that Luiz would leave in January.
