‘Too hyper’: Pundit says 44-year-old manager is way too frenetic to manage Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp will be leaving Liverpool as an absolute legend.

Not only was the German one of the great tacticians of the modern era, he was also one of the Premier League’s great characters.

Klopp always wore his heart on his sleeve, he was never afraid to celebrate goals, and he was never scared to voice his opinion when he needed to.

Klopp was always very animated on the touchline – he even pulled his hamstring celebrating a goal once, and Liverpool fans loved him for it.

Whoever replaces Klopp will have to be just as charismatic, and one man who does like to give it a bit on the touchline is Roberto De Zerbi.

The Italian is as fiery as they come, and according to Tony Cascarino, speaking on The Game Football Podcast, he may actually be a bit too much to manage Liverpool.

De Zerbi too hyper

Cascarino shared his verdict on the 44-year-old.

“I look at Brighton and how well they’ve transformed, I think he’s (De Zerbi) even too hyper for Liverpool. Don’t get me wrong, how he’s developed the club and how good he’s been has been eye-opening, but I do feel that Alonso is a very pragmatic guy in how he’s handled everything, and he could take Liverpool and feel very at ease very quickly,” Cascarino said.

Would explode

De Zerbi is already one of the most frenetic managers in the Premier League at Brighton where, with all due respect, the stakes are a lot lower.

Imagine what he’d be like if he came to Liverpool, every game is absolutely huge when you’re battling at the very top, and if things weren’t going his way, he’d probably explode.

We love De Zerbi as a manager and as a personality, but as Cascarino says, you do need to be a bit more relaxed if you’re going to be the man to replace Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
