Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has praised two Liverpool players for the way they have trained ahead of the game against Atalanta this week.
The Reds lost their place at the top of the Premier League after their 2-2 draw against Manchester United, but they are still in the race.
However, the focus for now has shifted to the Europa League, where Liverpool take on Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta at Anfield tonight.
Klopp has now shared some insight on what he saw in Liverpool training this week.
Jurgen Klopp shares injury update on Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota
Liverpool have had so many injuries this season, haven’t they?
Jurgen Klopp has missed many of his key players at different stages of the season, but he has still managed to keep his side alive in the race to win the Premier League and Europa League titles.
Liverpool deserve a huge amount of credit for that, and there is some good news for them now as a few of their stars have returned from their injuries.
Two such players are Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota.
Both players have been out of action since February with knee injuries. The Reds have done well without them, but having them available is a massive boost.
In his press conference ahead of the game against Atalanta, Klopp revealed that both Jota and Alexander-Arnold are back in training.
The German then revealed that both players were excellent in the session on Tuesday too, which is fantastic news for Reds fans.
Klopp said, as per Liverpool’s official website: “So, obviously we didn’t rush it with the boys. You can but we didn’t, that means they did a lot of training by themselves, especially Diogo and Trent, [they] worked as a group for two or three weeks really properly training.
“So, [they] looked very good yesterday (Tuesday), to be honest.”

Liverpool would’ve been so much stronger this season if they had no injuries.
The Reds have been without so many of their key players at different stages, but they have still managed to overcome most of their difficulties.
One player who showed a lot of promise last season but hasn’t played a minute in the Premier League this time around is young Stefan Bajcetic.
The 19-year-old has been out with a calf injury for most of this season, but he returned to training not too long ago and is nearing full fitness. He has really bulked up as well.
Jurgen Klopp was asked in his press conference if Bajcetic will be available for the game tonight.
The German replied: “Stefan is different a little bit because he was out for much longer, but he is now training with us for longer as well.
“But I think after the long spell he had without playing football it makes sense that we might give him a game at U21s and then let’s see how he deals with that. That’s not the plan with the other three guys.”
