BBC pundit Danny Murphy now believes that West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice will definitely leave the club next summer.

Murphy was speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel ahead of England’s next game.

Rice has been linked with a move to Liverpool by the Telegraph, and he’s recently spoken about his future.

The impressive midfielder admitted he wants to be playing Champions League football like his England teammates.

West Ham manager David Moyes put a £150m price tag on Rice in the summer.

It’s unlikely that Rice will end up leaving the club for that amount, but the Hammers will demand a huge fee.

The 23-year-old is one of the first names on Gareth Southgate’s England team sheet.

He’s made the central midfield position his own, combining well with fellow Liverpool target Jude Bellingham.

Murphy is now under the belief that Rice will leave West Ham this summer, and may even have an agreement with the club.

Murphy confident Rice will leave this summer

Speaking to Ferdinand and journalist David Ornstein about Rice’s future, Murphy said: “I speak to Dec a lot, and he’s so ambitious.

“It’s not ‘I’m desperate to leave’, but the reality is, I think last summer when people were talking about him leaving, I think Moyesy spoke to him and said, ‘look, we’ll do another year’.

“I think they’ve probably said to him, we’ll let you go this summer.

“I think the reason he’s saying that in his press conference is because West Ham [have said something].

“Depending on if they get the right amount because they’ll want a chunk, but it’s time for him to go.”

Moyes has already said this season that Rice has been carrying West Ham, despite their poor home form.

The Hammers are in Europe once again, but it will take a miracle for them to qualify through the Premier League next season.

Their best bet is to win the Europa Conference League, but Rice will have set his sights higher than that.

Murphy is confident Rice will leave next summer, and Liverpool will hope they can benefit from the phenomenal midfielder looking for a new challenge.
