Jarrad Branthwaite has established himself as a proper Premier League star this season.
The Everton defender has been utterly brilliant at the back for the Toffees this term, and he’s now being discussed as a potential key player for England at this summer’s Euros.
Speaking on the Blood Red Podcast, Theo Squires has been discussing Branthwaite’s England chances, and he says that even within the Liverpool staff, the defender is expected to be a star for the Three Lions.
Indeed, Squires says that he went down to the Liverpool academy this week, and staff were talking up the idea of Branthwaite and Jarell Quansah being the long-term centre-back partnership for England.

Squires shared what he heard about Branthwaite during his trip to Liverpool’s academy this week.
“I was down at the academy on Thursday, doing some bits and bobs with people working there, and they were saying that they could easily envisage England’s centre-back pairing being Branthwaite and Quansah in the coming years because they complement each other so well,” Squires said.
England’s future is bright
Whether or not Quansah and Branthwaite ultimately do become England’s centre-back partnership remains to be seen, but it’s fair to say the future is bright for the Three Lions.
The likes of Marc Guehi and Levi Colwill are two other promising young centre-back options and that’s before you even start to think about the next crop that is coming through.
For the first time in a while, England genuinely do seem to have a crop of promising centre-backs coming through at the moment, and perhaps the best of the bunch are Branthwaite and Quansah who are shining for their respective Merseyside clubs.
Liverpool and Everton don’t see eye to eye on many things, but it sounds as though the Reds’ staff are just as excited about Branthwaite as the Everton staff are.
