Liverpool have a real knack of producing incredible young players in recent years.
The likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones have become stars at Anfield over the past few years, while Jarell Quansah and Stefan Bajcetic are well on their way.
So, who could be next on the Anfield production line? Well, according to Paul Gorst, speaking on The Blood Red Podcast, Trey Nyoni is a young player that Liverpool think has bags of potential.

Gorst spoke about the 16-year-old midfielder and his potential.
“Who is the most exciting young player in the academy that Liverpool fans won’t have heard of?” Gorst was asked.
“That they won’t have heard of? Well I like Trey Nyoni. He’s only been there a few months and he’s already making the bench for the senior games and they think massively of him at Kirby, he’s a bit of a goalscoring midfielder, he scored in the mini derby in Sepmtember, you can see why Liverpool made great efforts to get him from Leicester,” Gorst said.
Exciting
Liverpool have had midfield issues for a long-time, but all of a sudden, they seem to be overawed with options.
Indeed, with the likes of Ryan Gravenberch, Dominic Szoboszlai, Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones, Stefan Bajcetic, Bobby Clarke and now Nyoni all under the age of 23 and all extremely talented, Liverpool’s midfield options could well be sorted for the next 10 years.
Of course, we never want to put too much pressure on a 16-year-old, and Nyoni is only a baby in footballing terms, but if you’re highly rated within the Liverpool academy system you may well have something special about you.
Don’t be shocked if this 16-year-old starts to make an impact at first-team level in a few years’ time.
The future certainly looks bright for Liverpool, that’s for sure.
