Sam Allardyce has suggested that Liverpool should at least try and convince Jurgen Klopp to stay on as their manager following the news that he is planning to leave Anfield at the end of the season.
Jurgen Klopp brought the football world to a standstill towards the end of the January transfer window by announcing that he will move on in the summer.
Liverpool are now facing a monumental decision over who they replace Klopp with. The German has transformed the Reds; turning them into regular title contenders in the Premier League, as well as taking them back to the top of the European mountain.

Understandably, a number of names are in the frame. Liverpool are monitoring Xabi Alonso. Meanwhile, the Reds have also been linked with names such as Thomas Frank.

Nevertheless, speaking on No Tippy Tappy Football podcast, Sam Allardyce spoke about Klopp deciding to leave. And he suggested that Liverpool should do all they can to convince him to stick around.
“I can understand it. Can they change his mind? They should try. Whether they will or whether they won’t will be another factor. What is his family saying? I don’t think it’s an illness or anything like that. I think it’s just the need for a complete break from the strain of managing Liverpool, and the way he manages,” he said.
Reds boss will have no doubts about his decision… right now
Liverpool would have left no stone unturned. If there was a chance of convincing the 56-year-old to change his mind, they would have looked into it.
As things stand, Klopp is surely convinced he is going. Perhaps there may be scope for that to change further down the line as the end of the season gets closer.
But certainly, if Liverpool follow their Carabao Cup final win by winning further honours before the campaign concludes, Klopp may feel that there is no better opportunity to call time on his Anfield spell.
