Alisson Becker has lauded three Arsenal players after Liverpool drew 1-1 with Mikel Arteta’s side at Anfield on Saturday.
The Reds missed the chance to go back to the top of the Premier League table, with Trent Alexander-Arnold hitting the bar during the second-half.
It was Gabriel Magalhaes who gave Arsenal the lead in the early stages. That was one of only two shots on target from the visitors (Whoscored). And with that, the likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus will be frustrated that they did not manage to test Alisson more.
Alisson praises Arsenal trio after Liverpool draw
But the Liverpool goalkeeper would clearly credit both Ibrahima Konate and Virgil Van Dijk for keeping the Arsenal attack quiet as he told Liverpool’s website how much admiration he has for the Gunners trio.

“He’s still young, as he is a big and strong man I think nobody realises that, but he is still young and he is improving, being a more mature player alongside Virgil. They did an amazing game, but not only them. They did an amazing game because everybody helped them to do their job.
“But in the one-v-one situations against [Gabriel] Martinelli, against [Bukayo] Saka, against Gabriel Jesus, they are amazing strikers, and the way they defended was amazing.”
Rivals should worry about Gunners finding top gear
It has been a mixed season for Arsenal’s attacking players. Bukayo Saka has definitely been the most influential, scoring five goals and providing six assists in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli have four goal involvements each. And with that, you have to say that neither have really done enough for Mikel Arteta’s side.
In fact, Martinelli has arguably been a shadow of himself so far this season. He had scored seven league goals before the turn of the year last year.
The worry for Arsenal’s rivals will be that the Gunners are yet to find their best form. And yet, they find themselves top of the table at Christmas once again.
If everything clicks for Arsenal, it is going to take a lot for the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City to keep up with them.
