Liverpool midfielder Fabinho is desperate for a bit of form and Jurgen Klopp could give him the chance to start against Manchester City this week. The Reds have drawn their rivals in the Carabao Cup and the Brazilian looks set to start the clash.
There could be a couple of other World Cup players included. Both Alisson Becker and Trent Alexander-Arnold are back in training and could also feature against Pep Guardiola’s team.
Fabinho is the big one though. It’s been a somewhat frustrating season for him and he’s started just 11 times in the Premier League during 2022/23.

Jurgen Klopp has hinted that Fabinho could start against City following his time at the World Cup with Brazil, saying: “Yeah, there’s a chance. Of course, they have trained already.”
Fabinho didn’t exactly have a World Cup to remember either. He played in the 1-0 defeat against Cameroon but failed to make another appearance in the competition.
Now, he will be fully focused on Liverpool. He will be desperate to get back into the form that his fans know he’s capable of and what better than a game against City.
Fabinho could get starting chance against City and he must grasp it
The 29-year-old will have a point to prove after the World Cup. He’d have been gutted not to feature more often and he will want to show his country what they’re missing.
Liverpool face a tough task against City. However, they have emerged victorious against the champions once this season and they will hope for a similar outcome.

He hasn’t become a bad player overnight, however. As a result, Fabinho will be aiming to show his true worth when he next gets the nod for Liverpool.
