Micah Richards has delivered his verdict on Ruben Amorim becoming the next Liverpool manager.
The Reds will soon bid farewell to Jurgen Klopp, who is one of the greatest managers in the club’s history. The German has truly transformed them over the years.
Liverpool will begin a new era this summer, and Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes are on the lookout to find the man who will succeed Klopp at Anfield.
Amorim has been heavily linked with the Liverpool job, and Richards has now had his say on the Sporting Lisbon boss.

Ruben Amorim is the favourite to become the next Liverpool manager.
The 39-year-old has done a phenomenal job at Sporting Lisbon. He won the Portuguese league title there in 2021 and is on track to do it again this season.
Amorim is destined to leave Sporting for a bigger club in Europe, and all signs are pointing towards a move to Anfield to replace Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
The Reds have been heavily linked with a move to appoint Amorim, and reports have claimed that they have even offered him a three-year contract.
Micah Richards was asked about Amorim on the Rest is Football podcast this week, and he thinks the 39-year-old would be a great fit at Anfield.
However, he has claimed that there is one big ‘question mark’ about the potential appointment.
He said: “I think the way he plays, tactically, he would be good. But, I did see a quote from him, he basically said the rumours about him going to Liverpool are not true and he wants everyone to stop talking about it, which I did see just yesterday.
“But, in terms of could he be good for Liverpool? Definitely! He’s really intelligent, he plays attacking football, he has evolved as a manager as well because he was at Braga I think as well, he did OK there.
“The thing is though, can he do it in the Premier League so soon? That’s the one question mark you would have. I’ve heard Liverpool fans saying they would like him, they like his style of football. But, you just never know.”
There is another big worry for Liverpool about Ruben Amorim
Micah Richards has a point there, doesn’t he?
Ruben Amorim is still just 39 years old. The Premier League is on a completely different level to the Portuguese top flight, and the pressure that will be on his shoulders if he moves to Anfield will be significantly higher as well.
The other worry for Amorim is the fact that he will be replacing one of the best managers in the world.
Jurgen Klopp has set a really high standard at Liverpool – just like Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger did at Manchester United and Arsenal respectively.
We all know what happened to their successors – one was sacked after 10 months and the other after 18.
Amorim will definitely be promised time, but football is a funny game and once results start going against him, it will be very difficult to turn things around.
