For the longest time, James Milner was seen as the bastion of professionalism at Anfield with the Brighton midfielder being seen as the role model on Merseyside for a long time.
However, speaking on BeIN Sports, Trent Alexander-Arnold has named Mohamed Salah as the most professional player he’s ever shared the pitch with, claiming that he’s the most hard-working and dedicated footballer he’s ever seen.

The defender shared his verdict on his teammate.
“When I’m old enough and lucky enough to have kids and grandkids it won’t be his goals or assists I’ll talk about it’s the way he applied himself, the role model and leader he was. The most professional player I’ve been priveliged enough to share the pitch with. The hardest working, most dedicated to his craft, he is someone who will go down in the history of the club, the league and football for what he’s gone on to achieve, he’s someone who I’m sure will go down as a legend in the game,” Alexander-Arnold said.
Huge praise
This is massive praise from Alexander-Arnold.
It’s obvious to everyone who has watched Salah these past few years that he’s an ultra-professional player, but, by the sounds of it, he’s on a whole other level.
Let’s not forget, Alexander-Arnold has played with the likes of Jordan Henderson and James Milner in recent years, two of the most professional players the Premier League has ever seen, and the fact that Salah is deemed to be above that level is a huge testament to his attitude and application.
Salah is a top class player and he’s reached this level through sheer hard work and dedication.
