Liverpool have been linked with Fluminense’s Andre Trindade in recent months.
Back in October, 90Min reported that the Reds remain interested in the 22-year-old after placing him on their summer transfer list.
Although a deal fell through due to Andre’s Copa Libertadores commitments, Liverpool have apparently continued to keep watch.
Furthermore, it has been reported that the Brazil international – who is said to have a £40million release clause – is very keen to join the Reds.
With the Brazilian season over, the likelihood of Andre making a big career move to Europe seems higher than ever.
Liverpool target Andre Trindade is worthy of ‘the very biggest clubs’
South American football expert Tim Vickery, speaking on Sky Sports, admits he’s baffled that Andre hasn’t sealed a big move yet.
He likened the player to a young Javier Mascherano and claimed that he may just be the best Brazilian midfielder in the Premier League if he joins.
“It’s amazing to me that Andre is still playing for Fluminense in Brazil,” said Vickery.
“Think of the Brazilian central midfielders doing well in the Premier League: Douglas Luiz, Joao Gomes, Danilo, Bruno Guimaraes – Andre might just be the best of the bunch.

“He’s fierce in the tackle, covers a lot of space and, also, he plays for a side that play out from the back, so he really has to receive the ball in pressure situations.
“It’s a real surprise to me that he’s still in Brazil and that he’s not attracting interest from the very biggest clubs.”
Andre Trindade looks like a future superstar
Whether Liverpool or anyone else sign Andre, whoever wins the race will be getting one of Brazil’s best young midfield talents.
He has been described as a ‘scaringly good controller of tempo’, ‘a 10/10 recyler and ball winner’ and ‘a mix of Thiago and Wijnaldum’.
Meanwhile, journalist Graeme Bailey told Talking Transfers last year: “Many people think he’s the best defensive midfielder in the Brazilian top flight at the moment.”
Let’s see what happens in the coming weeks. Andre sounds like a world-class talent and it would be good to see him grace the Premier League.
