'That's so crazy': Jurgen Klopp shares what he cannot believe about £67m Liverpool player

Jurgen Klopp has shared what he finds absolutely crazy about Alisson Becker as he labelled the Liverpool star the best goalkeeper in the world.

Few signings have been more important for Liverpool during the tenure of Jurgen Klopp than that of Alisson. The Brazilian’s arrival for £67 million was undoubtedly a game-changer for the Reds.

Alisson is unquestionably one of the very best goalkeepers in the world, particularly when it comes to shot-stopping. And that helped elevate Liverpool into the title picture once again.

Jurgen Klopp shares what he finds crazy about Alisson

Klopp was speaking to Ben Foster in an interview on Amazon Prime Sport, and Foster suggested that he believes that the 31-year-old sets the standard for the goalkeeper position.

Unsurprisingly, Klopp agreed with Foster’s assessment. However, he added that he is just as impressive off the pitch also.

“The craziest thing about Ali is I would really say – I think as well he’s the best goalie in the world – as a person, he’s even better. And that’s so crazy,” he said.

“When you see him, you look at him and you think I don’t want to have another goalkeeper. That’s it just now. That’s the goalie you want to have. He’s calm as you like. He’s really smart. A really good person. Wants to play each game. If I leave him out for whatever reason, he asks why. So he has this competitiveness as well. He has a real football brain so he thinks about things.”

Liverpool goalkeeper still has plenty to give on and off the pitch

The good news is that Alisson still presumably has a number of years left at the very highest level. There does not appear to be any reason why he cannot continue for several seasons yet.

And he looks destined to enjoy plenty of success with Liverpool in the years to come. The Reds went into the weekend top of the Premier League table without coming close to finding their top gear.

They now have plenty of younger players with huge potential. And that is a very exciting sign for the future.

It may not be the best news for Caoimhin Kelleher, who has had to be very patient as Alisson’s backup.

But Alisson looks set to remain a key player for a thriving Liverpool team for some time yet.
