Danny Murphy has claimed that two players could leave Liverpool at the end of the season along with Jurgen Klopp.

It has been a sad few days for Reds fans after their manager announced that this will be his last season at the club. Klopp will be gone in June, and Murphy thinks it’s possible Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk will follow him out the door.

Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah could leave Liverpool along with Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp leaving really is a huge blow for Liverpool.

The German is one of the best managers in world football. He took the Liverpool job when they were in a really difficult position and transformed them into one of the best sides in the world.

The likes of Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk have played a huge part in Liverpool’s success over the years, but Klopp is the biggest reason why they’re all so good.

Van Dijk has come out and claimed that he doesn’t know about his future yet, while Salah has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia for months now.

Danny Murphy had his say on the Dutchman’s comments, and he believes Van Dijk and Salah could well leave Liverpool in the summer along with Klopp.

He said on talkSPORT: “In terms of people like Van Dijk and Salah, I wouldn’t throw Trent into it, he’s a Liverpool lad, he’ll be staying, but Virgil and Mo Salah are at a certain age, I think they’ve both got 18 months left, there is a situation there where they could use it as a way out to try something new.

“They could, yeah, that’s possible.”

Liverpool can’t afford to lose multiple key men

Losing Jurgen Klopp alone will be a monumental blow for Liverpool, but to see two of their best players walk away with him would be a massive loss.

Mohamed Salah is the Reds’ best player, while Virgil van Dijk, who is their captain, is one of the most important people at the club – on and off the pitch.

Both of them will enter the final year of their contracts this summer, and Murphy is right, they could use Klopp’s departure to walk away too.

Liverpool have a massive job on their hands already with their manager leaving, but they could find themselves in real trouble if Salah and Van Dijk follow him out of the door too.
