'Strong’: Ivan Toney says Liverpool have a player who’s one of the most powerful in the Premier League

Ivan Toney has named Virgil van Dijk as one of the strongest players in the Premier League.

Speaking to Stadium Astro on TikTok, Toney was asked to build his ultimate footballer made up of a number of attributes.

Unsurprisingly, he chose Kevin De Bruyne’s footballing brain and Martin Odegaard’s vision, but when it came to strength, he had a few players to choose from.

Of course, there are tons of players in the Premier League who are immensely strong, but according to Toney, Virgil van Dijk and Kurt Zouma are the two most powerful players in the division.

Virgil van Dijk is one of the strongest

Toney spoke about the Dutchman and the West Ham star.

“Strength wise I’d say Van Dijk or Kurt Zouma, they’re both strong,” Toney said.

Mountain

It’s not at all surprising to hear Toney chose Van Dijk as one of the strongest players in the Premier League.

The Liverpool defender is an absolute mountain of a man. He’s as strong as an ox and he’s incredibly tall as well, which also plays into his ability to make tackles and recover quickly with his immense stride length.

Add into that the fact that Van Dijk reads the game better than almost any other player in the Premier League, and you have the recipe for one of the greatest defenders the league has ever seen.

There’s a reason Van Dijk is being tipped up for a potential Ballon d’Or win this year. The Dutchman has been as imperious as ever, and his incredible strength certainly plays a massive part in his style of play.

Ivan Toney is no weakling himself either, and if he says that Van Dijk is one of the strongest players in the league, he’s probably right.

Van Dijk is a true Rolls Royce of a footballer.
