123 Liverpool’s search for the right figures to rebuild the club when Jurgen Klopp leaves is continuing, with Michael Edwards’ name cropping up a lot again.
Edwards is widely credited with being a key part of the club’s rise under FSG but stepped away from Anfield to pursue other ventures a few seasons back.
However, with Klopp now leaving and Jorg Schmadtke also following the German, FSG know they need the right people in the right positions to oversee fresh change.
According to recent reports, Michael Edwards is being looked at again with Liverpool apparently ready to go all out to get him back.
And according to Fabrizio Romano, talks are indeed underway between Liverpool and Edwards.
Taking to X to share the update, Romano has said conversations are happening and that Liverpool also have Richard Hughes in their sights should Edwards agree to come back.

There is absolutely no doubt that this summer is going to be a massive one for Liverpool.
There are positions at the club that need filling that they absolutely need to get right and it’s obvious why they are going for Edwards once again, given his track record.
Getting this appointment right seems almost as important as getting the manager right. Edwards will be able to set the culture at the club above the manager and that has been so important in recent seasons at Anfield.
Times of change call for strong leadership and big decisions. Getting Edwards back in the building would be massive for Liverpool and give them a great chance of succeeding post-Klopp.
What follows after that, remains to be seen. But it is clear that FSG are wanting the smoothest transition possible here and Edwards is clearly their guy.
Whether or not it all comes to fruition, remains to be seen. But with chats taking place, it looks like Liverpool are at least making a good push to get this done.
