Alan Brazil has claimed that Virgil van Dijk isn’t at his best right now after the Liverpool defender’s performance against Fulham.
The Anfield captain played a role in Willian’s opening goal as the Dutch centre-back’s mistimed header allowed Fulham to break through and go 1-0 up against Liverpool.
Whilst the Reds managed to win the game 2-1, Van Dijk’s performance has become a talking point since the full-time whistle, with Brazil and Gabriel Agbonlahor debating on TalkSport about the defender’s form.

To which Brazil replied with: “I’d say there’s something missing from his A game, but he’s still a hell of a player.”
Agbonlahor said: “Yeah but when he’s on it, he’s not been as consistent as when he first joined but when he’s on it, he’s still one of the best defenders in the league.”
Virgil van Dijk is still one of Liverpool’s most important players

The Reds sit top of the Premier League in large part to Van Dijk’s performances, with the 32-year-old seemingly back to his best since suffering the infamous ACL injury of 2020.
And whilst the centre-back wasn’t at the top of his game last night, there’s no denying that Van Dijk remains one of Liverpool’s most important players.
Indeed, Jurgen Klopp’s side would not be in the Premier League title race without the Dutchman, and Van Dijk is showing week in and week out that he is still on of the best around.
