Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah has been described as a “fantastic” talent by Courtney Sweetman-Kirk.
The Sky Sports pundit was covering the Reds‘ Europa League encounter with Union SG on Thursday night.
Liverpool fell to a 2-1 defeat in Belgium, though the Reds had sealed top spot in Group E prior to the match.
Jurgen Klopp rung the changes and named a young Liverpool side, and they were presented with a tough test against a strong USG side.
Quansah was one of the standout players for the Anfield outfit. The 20-year-old scored his first goal for Liverpool to pull the Reds level after the hosts had opened the scoring.

The Liverpool academy graduate also did well defensively, winning plenty of headers and doing well on one-on-ones to help thwart numerous opposition attacks.
Jarell Quansah ‘will progress forward’ for Liverpool
Sweetman-Kirk, who played for Liverpool between 2018 and 2020, loved what she saw from Quansah on the night.
“You’d maybe argue some of them aren’t ready. But at times you have to see it in a game situation,” she said on Sky Sports News.
“But Quansah has been fantastic. He’s definitely one of the players that will progress forward.”
Liverpool have a great track record of turning talented academy prospects into established first-team stars, and Quansah looks like he’s next in line.
The defender already has 12 senior Reds appearances to his name, along with a goal and an assist. Hopefully there will be plenty more this season and beyond.
Klopp, speaking to the Liverpool media team in September, said the 20-year-old is a “fantastic” talent who had a “super” pre-season.
He suggested he’d keep picking him, and that has proven the case.
