'Sensational': Jamie Carragher says three Liverpool players were at their very best against Tottenham

Jamie Carragher has taken to Twitter after Liverpool beat Tottenham today and named three players he felt impressed on the day.

The Reds saw Mo Salah score twice in the first half at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. And despite a good second 45 from Spurs, it was enough for Liverpool to take all three points back to Merseyside.

Of course, a return to form for Salah is more than welcome at Liverpool. The Egyptian has not quite been at his brilliant best this season. But another two here will do him the world of good.

Carragher, then, took to Twitter to praise Salah’s efforts. However, at the same time, he also picked out Ibou Konate and Darwin Nunez for their roles in the win.

Carragher will be delighted with the result of course. He saw Manchester United hammered by Aston Villa and then watched his beloved Liverpool pick up a massive three points too.

Of the players he names here, you have to say all three were great. Konate is quickly becoming as important as Van Dijk at the back. While in attack Darwin Nunez seems to be getting better by the week.

For Liverpool, this can only be a positive and with players likely to be back fit after the World Cup, Jurgen Klopp will be hopeful of a better second half of the season.

Liverpool needed big players to get a big win at Tottenham and they got it. Carragher is right in picking this trio out and the performance of Nunez, once more, was eye-catching.

The Uruguayan seems to be up to speed now and is tempering some of his feistiness into being a pain for defenders.

The goals will follow for Nunez soon enough but Klopp won’t care as long as he keeps getting performances like this from his big-money summer signing.
