The Reds are said to have stiff competition from other European teams.
Liverpool fans are waiting with bated breath to see who new boss Arne Slot brings into the club. The transfer window hasn’t officially opened yet, but we already know of several gaps in the team that need to be filled, with both Thiago Alcantara and Joel Matip leaving.
It might just be an attacker that has Slot’s attention. The rumour is that the Reds are interested in RB Leipzig attacker Dani Olmo. The 26-year-old Spaniard signed a new contract with his current club last summer that is set to run through 2027. However, there’s that juicy release clause baked in that always gets tongues wagging.
Olmo’s is said to be £51m and good only through the end of the European Championship. So if clubs want him, they have to move quickly.
In addition to Liverpool, other interested parties are said to be both Liverpool teams, Barcelona, where Olmo originally trained at La Masia, and even another Bundesliga team in Bayern Munich.
It’s way too early to guess how this transfer window, which is sure to be chaotic, will play out. Liverpool have shown that they are willing to put out big money on players that they think are irreplaceable. They will also want to show that they have their full weight behind Slot as he begins the journey to try and replace Jürgen Klopp.
